[Concept] How do you drive engagement for an active and passionate audience?
Role/Skills used: Creative Direction, Mobile Design, Infographic Design (to show research), UX/UI, Wireframing, Competitive Analysis, User Research, Prototyping (InVision)
Who I worked with: GA classmates for group research // Individual for concept and execution
The American Bungalow app was my final project concept for the User Experience Design (UXD) program I was taking at General Assembly. The purpose of the project was to design a digital tool for the magazine, which addressed the needs of the user. Through research, competitive analysis, interviews with the readers and owner, I derived the following statement of insight: American Bungalow readers would benefit from an app that encompassed their affinity for bungalows (purchasing/renovating) and connecting with the community. These images show the research I did and screenshots of what the app could look like.

Inside spread of the magazine
The magazine has an emphasis on layout, clean typography and high-quality images
This was a chart I designed to show the range in age of the users the magazine attracts.
This map show that the American Bungalow website is attracting users from across the world.
A chart showing my research of American Bungalow readership in comparison with it's competitors, Cottages & Bungalows and HGTV. The most interesting fact I found, the ratio of male and female readers of American Bungalow was close and that 95% of their readers were home owners. In an interview with the editor of the magazine, he expressed that readers 'will spend $12,000 on a chair.'
Connection to Airbnb
There were a number of similarities between the American Bungalow readers and Bungalow owners on Airbnb.
Various wireframes I sketched as I started to conceptualize the design of the app
